This presentation will focus on the connection between writing and how it supports the reading process.   A review of research will confirm that reading and writing develop together as interactive and interrelated processes.  The workshop will include discussion and review of the preschool writing process as a communication tool rather than a focus being on handwriting instruction and letter formation. Through a variety of intentional experiences and personal reflections participants will increase knowledge and build strategies that will help create early writing experiences by embedding print in the classroom environment.  A connection between embedding print in the classroom and curriculum, IELDS, ECERS-3, and CLASS will be made.

This workshop is being presented in collaboration with Evanston/Skokie CCSD 65.
