Nature was our first teacher, and it may still be our best.
Whether the weather, parents, administrators, standards or schedules have made you think twice about taking your praxis out of the building, and out of the box, let this seminar grow your resource pool and increase your confidence as a teacher in nature. You can work with nature to Engage, Empower, Strengthen and Heal every student.
This seminar will cover: risk management and parent communications, outdoor classrooms, and several specific lessons you can do in the "nature" areas immediately available to you.
Educators will build a background knowledge of research justifying outdoor education to those who might challenge them taking children outside throughout the year. We will take a multicultural approach to these concerns.
Educators will be able to adapt nature based lessons to the peculiarities of their schedules and the standards they desire to cover.
Educators will be explore lessons encouraging lifelong outcomes for student health and wellness- and their own health and wellness to boot!
